For those of you who enjoy inauthentic, teenage movies of the late 90’s, I hope you get that reference. :)
However, it is rightfully true. It has been quite a while since my last photo shoot as I took a break to have our second little Bogardus lady bear. But, I am gleaming to announce that I am taking photographs of things other than my husband and children- not that I don’t enjoy it. They are, after all, my favorite subjects to capture, but I’m pretty sure they are excited to have a break from me shouting ridiculous things at them to get their attention and to sit still for one moment longer.
That being said, I had a lovely day capturing a beautiful family last weekend, I have an engagement shoot coming up, a wedding inspiration day and a wedding later in the year to capture as well.
It is absolutely rejuvenating to be able to use my camera to tell stories and I’m extremely thankful for those that trust me to do that well. I cannot believe it has been seven years since I sincerely started studying photography as something more than a hobby. It might sounds like a good amount of time, but when I think about all that has happened over those years, I am awestruck. I have switched from b&w and slide film to digital. From being single to a wife and mom of two. I lived both overseas and out of state for four years. I made friendships that are unshakable. I learned about community and calling. I taught photography and learned a new language. All of which I did nothing to deserve but made me all the more aware that everything is grace.
I sit here with a full and thankful heart that is eager to tell more stories.
Looking forward to sharing some previews of the last shoot with you soon.
